Canadian Association Step by Step (C.A.S.S.) is a registered charitable organization in Canada dedicated to improving health care and education opportunities for disabled children and their families in the south east province of Haiti.
C.A.S.S. activities include:
Supplying medical and educational material to selected facilities or schools.
Provide a local site for collection and warehousing of materials/supplies and arranging for regular shipment through Canadian volunteers.
Contribute funds for environmental support needs (e.g. ramps, generators) through a Canadian agent.
Provide funding for tuition fees for children with disabilities to attend specialized education.
Support and link with Canadian medical groups providing volunteer services in Haiti (e.g. orthopaedic surgery).
Currently supporting a rebuild of PAZAPA school that was destroyed in the terrible earthquake of January 2010. They are in the process of rebuilding on a new site with a building specifically designed to meet the needs of disabled children. We have partnered with Plan Canada to make this project a reality and continue to support the integration of children with special needs into regular Haitian society.
